Female Genital Cutting Statistics in UK Show an Increasing Number of Cases
A study by the Foundation for Women Health, Research and Development indicates about 66,000 women in the UK are victims of female genital cutting. The World Health Organization estimates that up to 140 million girls and women around the world have suffered some type of genital mutilation. This practice is considered as a fundamental human rights violation by the United Nations. The UK will start checking flights to some African countries.

DACnews Focuses on Upcoming Aid Effectiveness Forum
The July issue of the Development Assistance Committee News of the OECD highlights the major issues that will be discussed during the third high level forum on aid effectiveness in Accra, September 2-4. In a featured article, Jan Cedergren, chair of the DAC working party on aid effectiveness, shares his view on the Paris Declaration. OECD assisted the Development Gateway in the development of the Aid Management Platform, a program designed to help developing countries to better manage international assistance.
